This prompt is based on a suggestion from Simone Beaubien:
Sometimes a relationship just isn't meant to be. But sometimes a relationship ends because we just don't yet have the technology to save it. Write about how a previous relationship could have been saved if only it had happened after a certain technological advancement. Maybe if you had a cell phone instead of a pager in the 80s, you could have called your partner and explained that the reason your car is parked out in front of your ex's is not because you were cheating but because that psycho shot your tires as you were innocently driving by on the way to your ill grandmother's house. Or maybe if you have a crowbar with you at the time, you could have beat that horrible Robin kid to death before he had a chance to alert your lover, Batman, about how you really make enough money to be in Bruce Wayne's tax bracket. Or, you know, a teleporter could have helped with that long distance AOL relationship in 1996.
For me, I could have used one of the devices pictured below. Sure, they existed, but I didn't have one in my home. I wish I had.
